We have all had quite a eventful week to say the least! Most of the city has been without power for a few days due to a huge ice storm we had earlier in the week. None of us really knew what we were in for until it was here. Tues nite we woke up in the middle of the nite realizing our heat had gone out. We piled on the blankets and let Tobin get in the bed with us and we made it through the nite fine. By mid morning however we learned the extent of the damage. Street after street in the town trees had been forced down due to the amount of freezing rain we had got...power lines were down all over town....huge trees smashed scattered over on the streets and people's yards. There were a handful of restaurants open and luckily the mall was open which was a great bc we were able to entertain a one and half year old for hours in the playland.

What a week!
By the end of the day, we were told to prepare to be without electricity for at least a couple of days. Numerous churches and buildings, and the college were turned into shelters.
We managed to make the most of it and luckily my parents had a gas fireplace in their home (which you have NO idea what joy that can bring to a person)which kept us all nice and warm. We went out to dinner that nite and of course we ran into lots of friends all trying to hide that fact that we hadnt showered :). As soon as we sat down the lights started flickering on and off, the entire restaurant gasped in unison. It was pretty funny, we all panicked for a second. The lights ended up staying on the entire time and we finished out meal.
So to make a long story short, after a loooong few days we are thankfully back in our home....warm and cozy with all of our modern conveniences...warm shower included!
ahhhhh...It's nice to be back. ;)
It's been a while since i've had a "real" session with Tobin. He is 20 months old and really getting that toddler look. He has grown several inches over the last couple of months and has slimed up so much. I had the background set up today and decided to see if he was up for some pictures. When i asked him if he wanted to stand in front of the white paper and say cheese for mommy, this is what he did....
Sat right down, looked at the camera and smiled straight on.... so, maybe he's had some practice at this :)
